# Status Mapping for entity Products

The **Status Mapping** feature enables BulkFlow to correctly interpret and apply the status of each product during import. This ensures the import process handles product statuses more accurately and avoids avoidable errors.
# When to Use
If your import file includes a custom status field (e.g. “Is Active”, “Enabled”, “Publish”), it’s important to **map it to the STATUS field** during the **Field Mapping** step when importing products.
*For general instructions on Field Mapping, see [__Field Mapping for Products__](https://bulkflow.crisp.help/en/article/step-2-field-mapping-for-entity-products-j9bpf3/).*
# How It Works
Once your custom field is mapped to STATUS, the **Status Mapping** section will appear.
You can then assign any value from your custom status field to one of the three accepted Shopify statuses. These values can take many forms (both uppercase or lowercase are accepted), just ensure they are mapped correctly and consistently to the corresponding Shopify statuses.
| **Your Value** | **Mapped To** |
| Yes, True, 1 | Active |
| No, False, 0 | Draft |
| None, Blank | Archived |
BulkFlow applies this mapping logic to accurately determine the appropriate status of each product during the import process.
# Notes
* If you **don’t map your field** to the STATUS field, the Status Mapping section will **not appear**, and all products may be treated as **Active by default**.

This feature is designed to give you more **control and flexibility**, especially when working with custom or third-party export files.
