# How to map product fields correctly

Field mapping is a crucial step in the import process that ensures your data is correctly aligned with the corresponding fields in your store. This guide will walk you through configuring the Field Mapping step for products in BulkFlow.

# Accessing Field Mapping

After preparing your file in the **Prepare File** step, click **Next Step** to proceed to **Field Mapping**. Here, you’ll map the columns from your uploaded file to the fields in your store.

# Understanding the Interface

### Key Components

* **Store Fields**: Predefined fields in your store (e.g., SKU, Title, Price).
* **File Fields**: Columns from your uploaded file that need to be mapped to Store Fields.
* **Preview**: Displays sample data from your file for verification.
* **Identifier Field**: A unique field (default: SKU) used to identify products.

### Mandatory Fields

You must map the following fields for successful import:

* **SKU**
* **Title**
* **Price**
* **Quantity**
# Mapping Fields

### Automatic Mapping

Bulkflow will attempt to auto-map fields if the column names in your file match the Store Fields.

**For example:** \*\*\*\* A column named "Title" in your file will automatically map to the "Title" Store Field.

### Manual Mapping

If auto-mapping fails or is incomplete:

1. Locate the **Store Field** you want to map (e.g., "Price").

2. Click the dropdown under **File Fields** and select the corresponding column from your file.

3. Repeat for all required fields.

# Additional Configurations

### Inventory Location (Shopify Stores)

* Select the location where inventory will be updated (e.g., "ABC Warehouse").
* This ensures stock quantities are assigned correctly.

### Auto-Publish

* Enable **Auto Publish** to automatically publish new products to selected sales channels.
* Choose specific channels or select **All** to publish everywhere.

### Tags

* Assign tags to new products (e.g., "New-0001") for easy categorization.
* Tags help organize and filter products in your store.

# Verifying Mappings

Use the **Preview** section to:

* Check if data aligns correctly (e.g., the "Price" column shows numeric values).
* Navigate through sample rows using the arrow icons.

# Proceeding to Next Step

Once all fields are mapped:

1. Click **Next Step** to start importing data.

2. A confirmation dialog will appear—click **Continue** to proceed.

# Troubleshooting

* Error: " *You have to map all selected fields.*" - **Ensure all mandatory fields are mapped.**
* Error: "*Invalid file format.*" - **Verify your file matches the supported formats (CSV, XLSX,** **XLS,** **Google Sheet)**.
